Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce: Annual Gala: June 14, 2003.This year's entertainment featured Dominicanada, performing their smash hits 'Como le Gusta a las Mujeres' and 'Te Amo' in Hindi with lyrics written by Abhishek. The reception featured Ernie Tollar on Bansuri(flute) and Ed Hanley on Tabla. And 3 senior students of SDIPA performed to Baho Me Chale Aao.

Devis & Divas: A spectacular concert featured 13 unique South Asian female artists at the Phoenix Concert Theatre, May 21, 2003

Magic Feet Canada presented Shiamak Davar's 9th Bollywood Dance Workshop Showcase: 120 students performed to your favorite Bollywood tracks as a conclusion to the 9th Student Workshop. Venue: Martingrove Collegiate Insitute, 50 Winterton Dr, Etobicoke(Martingrove and Eglinton). December 15, 2002.

2001

Bollywood Dance Workshops Show: November 4, 2001. Kids, Juniors, Beginners, Elementary, special groups/community classes will perform in two shows at 1pm and 2.30pm at Martingrove Collegiate Institute.
MyBindi Awards at Phoenix Concert Theatre: November 8, 2001. Coordinated the stage show and awards ceremony. The first annual Peoples' Choice awards in various categories by the popular South Asian Canadian website www.mybindi.com
Karma: Sukhbir in Concert at Hummingbird Centre: Students from the Toronto centre for SDIPA performed on stage with Bhangra Prince Sukhbir and Montreal based pop group Josh
Toronto International Film Festival 2001 - Alliance Atlantis Films: Publicity for Mira Nair's Monsoon Wedding. Media Relations, Press meetings and Party for the film were some of the areas we were contracted for.
Masala! Mehndi! Masti! 2001: August 17 -19 at Harbourfront Centre, Queens Quay, Toronto This festival was a co-production with Harbourfront Centre and the festival an effort to bring forth the South Asian Youth of Canada, to help them identify with and acknowledge their heritage and culture, to take responsibility of it in to the new millennium. It is only when we represent ourselves on a mainstream platform that we are proud of who we are and our heritage. Contact us to be an important part of this event in 2002.

2000

JULY 1, 2000: The World's first and longest consecutive singing of a National Anthem - CANADA DAY 2000, took place at Harbourfront Centre on July 1. The Guinness Book of World Records committee has approved this new category. Over 607 people from many nationalities joined in, received certificates of participation and created a brand new record that last almost 12 hours. There were gaps of no more than 15 seconds between the individual participants. It was a free event for all and the most popular event at Harbourfront Centre that weekend.
The first Authentic Bollywood Dance Workshops in Canada. Shiamak Davar's Institute for the Performing Arts(SDIPA) conducts 4-6 week workshop series that take dancing to new heights in and around Toronto. These workshops culminate in a professional show, with Shiamak himself and all students participate in the same. All ages, shapes and sizes are welcome. There are various age groups: 4-6, 7-11 and 12 plus. All receive certificates of achievement and can progress to the next level. The workshops were held in July and October 2000, April, August and October 2001. The next sessions are scheduled for Jan/Feb 2002. Email sdipa@magicfeet.com to join our mailing list

The World's Largest Greetings Message Board/Card (Guinness Book of Records Approved), Dubai, March 2000
• Sourced materials for the creation of a 400 sq. m. uncut card
• Coincided the event with Mothers Day celebrations in UAE and the Dubai Shopping Festival's 'To Mother, With Love' theme and created a Mother's Day Message Board/Card
• Everyone was invited to write a message on the card and received a replica on the giant on which they wrote the same message and sent it to their mother. All who took part also donated to three local charities.
• International media coverage (including CNN, Discovery, LBC; international and local print media and radio stations)
• Inaugurated by the His Highness Sheikh Mohammad and the royal family of the country

Evita - the musical, full-scale production. Directed by Alyque Padamsee, starring Sharon Prabhakar and Dalip Tahil, February 2000
Dandia Dhamaka: a Gujarati concert in Toronto, Canada featuring artists from India. October 2000
Teens Thrillenium Rock Concert with Remo Fernandes, Jaspinder Narula, Shan and Sagarika. Consulted on this event that aimed to raise funds for three schools for handicapped children. January 2000

1999

Panorama India: a 3-day Festival of India, Harbourfront Centre, August 1999.
• Conceived of the idea to celebrate Indian culture in a mainstream setting in any year
• Brought in the Indian Consulate as the key partner
• Coordinated programming and technical requirements for over 70 performance groups and organizations
• Coordinated 12 restaurants and 10 retail kiosks, art and photography galleries, film screenings, technical crew and all other staffing and security arrangements
• Oversaw all publicity material that was sent to print, radio and television media
• Over 50,000 people attended the festival over the weekend

Miss India UAE beauty pageant, October 1999
• Executed the first ever pageant of its kind in a Persian Gulf country
• Attracted and roped in all sponsorships
• Creatively choreographed and scripted the show
• Responsible for pulling in 6 celebrities to host, perform and judge at the show. They were Ruby Bhatia, Malaika Arora, Sukhbir, Achla Sachdev, Ms India Worldwide Melissa Bhagat and other local personalities
• Managed a team of over 100 staff and assistants
• Coordinated all travel arrangements for attending guests and celebrities
• Sales beyond expectations - additional 200 seats were added at the show
• Scheduled all qualifying rounds and pre-finals selections

MTV Asia, 'Chillout' TV show specials production - 5 episodes, December 1999
• Chose location shoot themes
• Coordinated venue set-ups
• Brought sponsors to the shows
• Scheduled all travel and accommodation arrangements for technical crew and VJs
• Drafted and released all publicity and promotional materials

Rhythms 99: UAE Open Dance Championships, December 1999. 28 youth groups from across the country entered the competition that had three age categories.
Beats 1999: MTV Youth Rock Concert, September 1999. 6 bands were chosen among many hopefuls to showcase their talent at an all ages rock concert that lasted 5 hours.
Dubai Shopping Festival Latin American Dance Performances, March 1999. Traditional Latino dancers performed for the Department of Public Parks, Dubai Municipality.
  Public Parks Eid Festival: Vedic Chant Rock Concert, January 1999. We organized this fusion style band's first international concert and since then they have been featured on all popular music channels.

1997-1998

Canada: the world within festival series: Dominicanada, Sangre Caliente concerts, November 1998. For details click here.
Santripti in Concert: a youth rock concert that raised $25,000 in one night for charity, June 1997. Highlighting the finest youth talent and raising funds for handicapped children. Two great efforts rolled in to one.
