SHIAMAK DAVAR'S INDO JAZZ & BOLLYWOOD DANCE WORKSHOPS

TORONTO & VANCOUVER CLASSES

Shiamak Davar is India's most respected modern choreographer. He has been instrumental in creating an entirely new style of dance in India. Shiamak recently choreographed for two blockbuster Hindi musicals, Taal and Dil to Pagal Hai (which featured former Ms World Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan, Karishma Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit - India's most successful actors).

After an incredibly successful launch in Toronto in July 2000, the Shiamak Davar Bollywood Dance Workshops have returned 12 times since. The workshops are running in Markham, Downtown and Mississauga.

The uniqueness in Shiamak's technique is that it is based on western ballet and jazz, incorporating Indian dance styles. His instructors have 5-12 years of teaching experience and are also trained physical fitness experts. They are flown out of India for the period of the workshop as there are none outside of Mumbai trained for this. The sessions entail a certain amount of exercise and warm-up before the dance routines are taught. Through the course of the workshop each group is taught choreography to an entire Bollywood song that is presented in a professional show. Hundreds have been witness to these shows and everyone was awed by what the students had learned in such a short span of time.

There are special classes for individuals, womens' group and other personal groups as requested.

Magic Feet Canada has brought the workshops to Toronto, which is the first and the only international location (outside of India). We have centers in Mississauga, Markham, Toronto and plan to expand to
Brampton, Malton and elsewhere. Classes have recently commenced in Vancouver and will start in Calgary shortly.

In India there are over 30 centres and over 13,000 students annually. We believe that with the growing reach of the Hindi/Bollywood film industry around the world, this school is going to expand rapidly and prove to be very popular all over the world.
